MGH & BWH Center for Clinical Data Science
Machine learning is on the verge of transforming healthcare, and the MGH & BWH Center for Clinical Data Science (CCDS) is at the forefront of this revolution. We are a fast-paced start-up embedded in two of the nation’s leading research hospitals, backed by industry partners like Nvidia and GE Healthcare. We have access to millions of medical records, an on-prem GPU cluster, and a top-tier team from industry and academia. We work closely with clinicians to solve critical problems in patient care – our goal is to make real products that make a real difference in the hospital.
The focus of our product team is to define and support the development of AI solutions which have maximal clinical impact and utility while being possible to engineer and commercialize.
Support data pipeline and processing efforts necessary for model training (e.g., data curation, annotation, and augmentation).
Interface with physicians to help identify high value opportunities in medical imaging, pathology, and electronic health record data for the use of machine learning.
Interface with engineers to collaboratively define product specifications and features
Understand and ensure compliance with policies and procedures required for clinical validation within the Partners HealthCare system.
Prepare and report on the status of clinical investigations internally and externally
Analyze data acquired during the course of the clinical investigation, prepare reports and presentations based on clinical findings
Completed medical training before starting
Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical workflows, including medical imaging diagnostics, pathology, and clinical laboratory medicine
-Technical abilities, including knowledge in a scripting language such as Python and SQL
Some familiarity with common tools for data management and analysis including machine learning (e.g. Tensorflow, Keras) and general scientific computing.
-Understanding of Neural Networks
Comfort with basic statistics
-Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database software
-Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization including both technical and non-technical personnel
