Postdoctoral Position in Computational Neuroscience

Several Postdoctoral Fellow positions in developing deep learning for brain MRI analysis and prediction are available immediately in the Computational Neuroscience Lab (http://web.stanford.edu/group/cnslab) at Stanford University. The successful candidate will contribute to research and development in the coherent and robust multi-modal analysis of longitudinal brain MR images collected across multiple sites. The research projects are funded in part by the National Consortium on Alcohol and NeuroDevelopment in Adolescence (NCANDA; http://www.ncanda.org; 5K MRI sessions) and the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study (ABCD; http://addictionresearch.nih.gov/abcd-study; 12K samples). The researcher will work in a multidisciplinary research environment closely collaborating and publishing with imaging, computer, and neuroscientists at Stanford University and SRI International.

Qualifications:
We are seeking highly motivated individuals who have demonstrated academic excellence, including publications in first-class journals and conferences. Successful candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering, or related field. Experience in medical image analysis and machine learning is highly desirable. Expertise in DTI is a plus.

Laboratory:
The Computational Neuroscience Lab is federally funded to perform multidisciplinary research focusing on developing deep learning technology to identify biomedical phenotypes specific to substance abuse, sleep, HIV, and adolescent brain. Studies are performed on MR imaging systems on the SRI site and in collaboration with other centers, such as those being part of NCANDA and ABCD. The studies are supported by the software platform Scalable Informatics for Biomedical Imaging Studies (SIBIS; https://sibis.sri.com/), which is developed by our interdisciplinary team of researchers consisting of clinicians, computer scientists, data scientists, physicists, and psychologists.
