Description:
The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at the Columbia University Medical Center seeks highly qualified individuals for the position of Assistant Director of the Digital and Computational Pathology Laboratory (DCPL), appointed at the Associate Research Scientist level. The DCPL provides a wide array of services including slide scanning (brightfield and fluorescence) and image analysis with software platforms (HALO, Visiopharm, QuPath). The successful candidate will have a background in computer science and statistical analysis and will use and manage DCPL resources to develop data science methods (machine learning including deep learning, statistical analysis) to create predictive algorithms using imaging and clinical data.

The DCPL resources include:
• Leica AT2 Scanner
• Aperio Versa 8 Fluorescent Microscope
• Leica eSlideManager Image Server
• 2 HALO workstations
• 1 Visiopharm image analysis workstation
• Leica Imagescope digital analysis software
• 1 nVidia DGX Station

Requirements:
• Preferred PhD in biomedical informatics, bioengineering, computational biology, computer science, physics, or a related field
• Strong skills with a programming language (Python, C++, Java, Scala)
• Familiarity with either Pytorch or Tensorflow
