Postdoctoral Positions in Computational Neuroscience

Tuesday 23rd June 2020

Several Postdoctoral Fellow positions in advancing brain MRI analysis, including developing deep learning predictors and embedding their findings within a neuroscientific context, are available immediately at the Computational Neuroscience Lab (http://cnslab.stanford.edu), Stanford University. The successful candidate will contribute to research and development in the coherent and robust multi-modal analysis of longitudinal brain MR images collected across multiple sites. The research projects are funded by the NIH, such as the National Consortium on Alcohol and NeuroDevelopment in Adolescence (NCANDA; http://www.ncanda.org; 5K MRI sessions). The researcher will work in a multidisciplinary research environment closely collaborating and publishing with imaging, computer, and neuroscientists at Stanford University and SRI International.

Qualifications:
We are seeking highly motivated individuals who have demonstrated academic excellence, including publications in first-class journals and conferences. Successful candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Neuroscience, or related field. The applicant can either be an expert in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical methods for medical image analysis, or an individual with a strong background in computational or system neuroscience. Expertise in DTI or fMRI is a plus.

Laboratory:
The Computational Neuroscience Lab (http://cnslab.stanford.edu) is federally funded to perform multidisciplinary research focusing on developing deep learning technology to identify biomedical phenotypes specific to substance abuse, sleep, HIV, and adolescent brain. Studies are performed on MR imaging systems on the SRI site and in collaboration with other centers, such as those being part of NCANDA or the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study. The studies are supported by the software platform Scalable Informatics for Biomedical Imaging Studies (SIBIS; https://sibis.sri.com), which is developed by our interdisciplinary team of researchers consisting of clinicians, computer scientists, data scientists, physicists, and psychologists.
