Postdoctoral Fellow in Brain Image Analysis

A post-doctoral fellow position is available at the Neuro Image Computing Research (NICR) group of the Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (LONI, http://www.loni.usc.edu ), which is part of the Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute of USC. In this position, the postdoc fellow will have the opportunity and freedom to conduct computational research in shape analysis, connectome modeling, or machine learning based on brain imaging data. Our goal is to develop novel imaging markers for neurological disorders such as the Alzheimer’s disease. This is a position funded by NIH grants and can be renewed for multiple years. The ideal candidate should have a PhD in engineering, computer science, or related fields, and strong background in image analysis. Through the Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute at USC, the post-doctoral fellow will have access to the ideal environment for brain imaging research. The LONI image data archive (IDA) is one of the largest brain image collections that hosts various imaging repositories such as ADNI. The datacenter of LONI boasts 4,096 cores and 38 terabytes of aggregate memory space for Big Data brain image analysis. The institute also houses a state-of-the-the-art image acquisition center with both 3T Siemens Prisma and 7T Siemens Terra MR scanners for human brain imaging.
