Gold Standard Phantoms Limited (GSP) is an award-winning start-up operating within the medical imaging industry. Our aims are to develop, market and sell calibration standards and services for use in Quantitative Medical Imaging. We aim to revolutionise diagnosis and therapy by providing the enabling step to using new imaging techniques in clinical practice.

We are a small team (including a very friendly office dog!), on the cusp of moving from R&D to a more established commercial space and are looking for an intelligent and motivated developer with specific expertise in Computer Vision to help us research, develop and launch our products.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Assist in researching and testing new software concepts

• Bringing forward successful research concepts and developing new software products to use as key components of our commercial offering

• Collaborate with team members across different specialisations

• Stay up to date with state-of-the-art research and industry progress

• Document and organize algorithm design and implementation decisions

• Communicate regularly with team about research advances, algorithm design, etc.

• Participate in strategic discussions around our software design

• Being flexible and working on anything else that a dynamic, fast-moving start-up might require

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• Academic or commercial experience of using/developing computer vision algorithms

• Competency in programming using C/C++

• Python and MATLAB programming experience (desirable)

• Familiarity with OpenCV (desirable)

APTITUDE

• Strong problem-solving abilities

• Strong written and verbal communications skills

• Be a good team player

• Have resourcefulness and a willingness to learn

• Image registration

• Image processing

• Object detection

• Feature extraction / matching

APPOINTMENT

The post is available immediately. It will be offered subject to a probationary period of three months and satisfactory references.

Expected salary £30,000-£35,000 pa, commensurate with experience. In addition, the employee will be eligible for share options as per our equity incentive plan.

In addition to public holidays in England, the employee will be entitled to 25 days’ paid holiday in each holiday year. Hours of work: 40 per week
