Currently, we are looking for two Research Informatics talents with expertise in (pre-)clinical imaging/omics data analysis and decision making to join us in driving an innovative strategy for Ophthalmology Precision Medicine for patients.

The Position
These responsibilities capture a portion of what your work will look like:

  • You will be a thought leader and a key contributor to our strategic Ophthalmology Precision Medicine (OPM) initiative, with a focus on multi-modal (pre-)clinical imaging/omics data analysis and decision making by applying artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), and statistical data analysis methods
  • You will establish and nurture effective partnerships with a wide range of researchers, clinicians, internal IT specialists and software companies to help answer existing scientific questions, and to recognize possibilities to apply advanced analytics for improving personalized prevention and personalized intervention
  • You will propose and prototype appropriate informatics solutions and rigorously validate scientific models for answering OPM related questions, and collaborate with technical teams to optimise the solutions towards higher performance, robustness, and scalability to optimally support (pre-)clinical decision making

  • You have a university degree, preferably a PhD, in Computer Science, applied Mathematics, Statistics, Software Engineering or similar and several years of professional experience in life science or research informatics
  • You are a quick learner, inspired by curiosity, who enjoys entering into new areas to build expertise and courageously and creatively takes initiative to see your ideas implemented through team work in a dynamic customer oriented environment
  • You have advanced knowledge of multi-modal image and omics data analysis including the application of AI/ML/DL and statistical data analysis methods, and a profound understanding of their advantages/drawbacks for solving a given problem
  • You bring a broad experience of algorithm development and end-to-end informatics solution delivery using both open source and commercial solutions
  • You are attracted by the challenges of managing informatics projects, and navigate consciously and fluidly between strategic conceptual thinking and detail-oriented planning, prioritisation, and task management
  • Your profile is rounded off by having very good presentation and communication skills in English
