Several positions (Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Scientist) in Image Analysis are available immediately in the Brain Addiction Laboratory, a joint research effort between SRI International and Stanford University. The successful candidate will contribute to brain MRI data analysis, data presentation, and manuscript writing in a multidisciplinary research environment. Responsibilities include image quality assurance, assisting with management of neuroimaging, neuropsychological, and clinical data acquired longitudinally at multiple sites; and analyzing structural, diffusion, and functional MRI for brain structural and functional development and deviations from normal development related to HIV, alcohol, or drug use. The research projects are funded in part by the National Consortium on Alcohol and NeuroDevelopment in Adolescence (NCANDA;; 3.5K MRI sessions), the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study (ABCD;; 20K MRI sessions planned), and the National Institute of Mental Health.



  • PhD (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
  • Experienced in brain image analysis (including fMRI, DTI)
  • Experienced in command line languages (Unix/Linux preferred)
  • Experienced in Python



  • Experience in machine learning
  • Experience with clinical databases (e.g., REDCap, XNAT)
