We are looking for a PhD who has experience with Deep Learning to work on image analysis of ultrasound images to detect deep vein thrombosis (DVT). ThinkSono aims to prevent DVT deaths through point of care diagnostics. We develop the first automated DVT diagnosis system by providing real-time guidance during the ultrasound exam. Every year, up to 800,000 people in the EU and USA die from DVT related conditions. We’re looking for a bright mind to join our growing team in our office in London and Berlin.

DVT is a blood clot in the deep veins of the leg, which can evolve into a lethal embolism. The detection of DVT is done through "compression ultrasound". Put simply, a sonographer visualises the vein and applies pressure to see if it compresses successfully. If the vein does not compress, then DVT is suspected (example video here).

Responsibilities

  • Research, design and implement deep learning and machine learning algorithms for medical imaging applications
  • Translate state-of-the-art technologies into commercial solutions
  • Agile prototyping and feasibility testing for real-world problems

 

Desired Qualifications

  • PhD in deep learning, computer vision, biomedical imaging or related fields
  • Strong collaboration skills and can-do attitude
  • Experience with deep learning libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc)
  • Advanced coding skills in Python
