The research focus is the development of image registration and analysis techniques for magnetic resonance (MR) guided radiation therapy of the head and neck.  Research topics include developing and implementing deformable registration techniques tailored to longitudinal imaging sequences of patients undergoing treatment and developing efficient image analysis tools for dynamic contrast enhanced MR (DCE-MR). The candidate will be expected to work in a highly interdisciplinary research environment with scientists and clinicians throughout MDACC, while also collaborating with industrial partners. Applications will be developed for use in an NIH funded clinical trial evaluating the efficacy of DCE-MR as a tool to measure clinical outcome including acute and chronic changes in normal tissues.  The candidate will have access to state of the art imaging and computing resources.

Qualifications:
Candidates should be proficient in scientific computing and should have a Ph.D.  by the time of appointment in Physics, any Engineering discipline, or Applied Mathematics/Statistics. Experience with imaging processing, registration, and analysis is preferred.
