Research Fellowship in Artificial Intelligence in Breast Imaging (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center)

Thursday 18th February 2021

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) has a position for a talented and productive quantitative scientist for a research fellowship to develop artificial intelligence tools in the field of breast cancer imaging. The cross-disciplinary breast cancer imaging team at MSK has multiple deep learning projects to improve breast cancer detection, lesion classification, risk assessment, patient triage, and to integrate these tools into the MSK clinical workflow. The research projects will leverage the uniquely large curated breast imaging datasets at MSK, as well as imaging datasets from collaborators at outside institutions, including breast MRI, ultrasound and mammography. The fellowship will involve working jointly with radiologists, computer scientists, and medical physicists.

Advanced programming skills with Python, machine learning skills, and quantitative modeling are a requirement. Advanced knowledge of MRI image processing, imaging physics, or statistical modeling would be desirable. The ideal candidate would have an established and focused research agenda in medical image-based machine learning. Applicants must possess a PhD in a quantitative discipline. She/he should have excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work successfully within a multi-disciplinary physician-scientist team on translational research projects. The successful applicant should have a demonstrated record of high-quality publications in scientific journals and strong analytical, writing and verbal skills. The candidate should have an interest in the biology of cancer and will interact with scientists and clinicians in multiple departments.
