POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER- DEEP LEARNING BASED AUTOMATED TUMOR TRACKING FOR IMAGE GUIDED RADIOTHERAPY (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center)

Friday 26th March 2021

Closing date: Open until filled
Job description:
One position is available for a postdoctoral fellow with computer science, biomedical engineering, or medical physics degree with strong background in computer vision and machine learning techniques in the Department of Medical Physics. This is an excellent opportunity for a computational scientist interested in advancing their medical image analysis skills while working on real problems to treat cancer with a multi-disciplinary group of computer scientists, MRI physicists, and clinicians treating cancer patients.

The position is for two years and will focus on the development of deep learning methods on the new MR guided linear accelerator system used for real-time imaging and treatment of cancers. In this project, the candidate will develop advanced deep learning methods to track tumors and organs to facilitate adaptation of treatment plans for prostate cancer treatments.

Ideal candidates must have strong programming background (Python) and working knowledge of deep learning libraries such as Tensorflow/Pytorch and expertise in implementing these methods for image analysis. Prior expertise in developing and applying deep learning/computer vision methods for medical image analysis is desirable. Candidates are expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills for writing manuscripts and presenting to multi-disciplinary audiences. Successful execution on the project is expected to result in high impact technical and clinical publications, and prototype development for MR guided treatment.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and is recognized as a world leader in clinical cancer care and research. Interested candidates should send a resume and list of three references via e-mail to:
