SUMMER INTERN – SCANNER ROBUST DEEP LEARNING MODELS FOR CANCER RESPONSE ASSESSMENT

One position for a summer intern for a master’s or PhD student with biomedical engineering, computer vision, or medical physics background and a with strong interest in computer vision and machine learning is available in the Department of Medical Physics. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in advancing their skills in medical image analysis while working on real problems involving cancer treatment with a multi-disciplinary team of computer scientists, medical physicists, and imaging physicists. In this position, the candidate will help to develop and evaluate robust deep learning methods that can be deployed with multi-institutional datasets using images acquired from real patient and physically realistic phantom studies.
Ideal candidates must have a strong programming background (python) and be familiar with deep learning libraries (Pytorch). Knowledge of machine learning and/or computer vision is highly desirable. Successful completion of the project is expected to result in a technical publication.
