Description: PediaMetrix is a vibrant and early-stage startup founded by a team of scientists and enthusiast entrepreneurs from Johns Hopkins, Princeton, and Oxford who are passionate about pediatric healthcare. We are developing SoftSpotTM, the first mobile health solution for infant cranial measurement and monitoring at the point of care through Computer Vision and AI. SoftSpotTM is designed to measure and monitor the head size and the shape parameters for a variety of conditions including plagiocephaly, brachycephaly and craniosynostosis. The recent COVID outbreak has highlighted the need and potential for remote monitoring technologies to enable tele-health and our solution is in high demand. We are looking for a self-motivated, entrepreneurial postdoctoral fellow to join our growing R&D team.

The ML/CV Industrial postdoc will join the R&D team to develop state of the art technologies for image segmentation, classification, and 3D reconstruction using AI and computer vision algorithms that will directly impact the health and wellbeing of children. The Fellow receives an annual base stipend of $78,000 per year, optional individual health and life insurance benefits, relocation assistance, a professional conference travel allowance, and scripted professional development training funded by the National Science Foundation with enormous learning opportunities in a fast-growing company. The position is available immediately and can be extended up to two years.

Required Qualifications: • PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field • Expertise in 3D reconstruction and processing • Image processing/Computer Vision/Machine/Deep Learning experience • Excellent documentation and communication skills • Entrepreneurial and learner mindset, team player, and highly flexible • Willing to relocate to Washington DC Metro area • Have US citizenship or Green Card • Received his PhD not later than 7 years ago
