The Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation at Children’s National Hospital has openings for research positions in quantitative imaging and AI in healthcare. Co-located with the pediatric specialty hospital, the Institute is one of the most dynamic pediatric bioengineering research sites, and an entrepreneurial hub for pediatric device development. We are based in the exciting capital city of Washington DC with endless options for scientific excellence, culture, and entertainment.
Positions are available at the level of postdoctoral fellow and staff scientist based on the applicant’s experience. The candidates will work in a team of computer scientists, biomedical engineers, geneticists, oncologists, cardiologists, radiologists, neonatologists, surgeons, and global health experts to conduct research and development on quantitative medical imaging, predictive analytics and machine learning. Areas of research priority include: • radiomics and predictive analytics • computational phenotyping and developmental modeling • medical image enhancement and homogenization • machine and federated learning
Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent research experience in the areas of computer vision, medical imaging and/or machine learning evidenced by peer reviewed publications. Other required qualifications are strong programming and good communication skills.
