Description Institute of Biomedical Engineering (CRL) directed by Prof. Qiushi Ren at Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) has several immediate openings for a tenure-track faculty position (at the rank of Assistant Professor) and a tenured Associate/Full Professor in the domain of biomedical image processing and analysis. Exceptional candidates at other ranks will also be considered. The researchers will develop highly innovative imaging processing techniques and software tools to correct distortion and reconstruct high-resolution images and estimate quantitative model parameters to generate markers of disease. The researchers will have access to radiologists, nuclear medicine physicists, a dedicated research PET/CT scanner, and preclinical multi-modality (PET/MRI/CT/Optical) scanners, will directly work with Profs. Qiushi Ren, and the other PI in SZBL.

Outstanding PhD in electrical or biomedical engineering, computer science, medical physics, or a related field with a research focus on biomedical image computing will be considered. Highly desired qualifications include:
- Demonstrated record of high-quality publications in the field
- Familiarity with open-source toolkits and applications for medical image analysis and machine learning such as ITK, VTK, 3D Slice
- Statistical models for fusion of multi-modal data (i.e., imaging, clinical/preclinical, etc.)
- Medical knowledge representation and reasoning
- Generative machine/deep learning models
- Demonstrated analytical, verbal, and scientific writing skills

About SZBL: Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) is a newly established Guangdong Provincial Laboratory located in the heart of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA). Jointly launched by the City of Shenzhen and Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, SZBL is financially supported by the Shenzhen City with an initial five-year budget of 13 billion CNY (~2 billion US$).
