Description: MD Anderson Cancer Center's Surgical Data Science Program is recruiting qualified applicants. The program is dedicated to improving the quality of cancer surgery through development and clinical use of new data science capabilities, workflow optimization, and cutting-edge technology for imaging, robotic assistance, and data-driven decision support. A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in computer science, BME, or related field is desired, with competitive salary commensurate to experience. Positions include distinct areas of Surgineering, building a dynamic team to bring breakthrough science to clinical use: (1) Data Science: New systems for data capture, curation, and modeling, including medical images, time-series data, and NLP from clinical notes. (2) Medical Devices: Technical innovation, prototyping, and evaluation, including image guidance, robotics, and novel surgical devices. (3) Systems Engineering: Integration / interoperability of surgical systems, workflow optimization, human factors, patient safety, and QA.
