Description Your responsibilities:
1. Work in the research project "Brain age and digital twins as markers of infant neurodevelopment: a machine-learning approach using multinational MRI data", funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation's Korean-Swiss Science and Technology Programme (KSSTP) grant, led by Prof. Dr. Andras Jakab at the Center for MR-Research, University Children's Hospital Zurich.
2. Develop and implement innovative techniques for generating realistic MR images of infants and designing an efficient image segmentation network capable of handling multi-centric, international MRI data of infants.
3. Based on these techniques, create a novel machine learning-driven approach for estimating brain age from images.
4. Produce and share code with project collaborators and the wider research community.
Provide guidance and supervision to master's thesis students and interns engaged in the same project.
5. Collaborate with the Principal Investigator to coordinate research tasks within the project, including data annotation and sharing, in conjunction with the Korean research team (Catholic University and NeuroPhet Inc. in Seoul, Korea).
6. Undertake one or two visits to the Korean research partner as needed.
Requirements:
1. PhD in the fields of engineering or computer science, with previous research experience in image analysis utilizing machine learning
2. Proficient programming skills, including languages such as Python, to effectively carry out project tasks
3. Past experience in image segmentation, generative AI (GAN/stable diffusion) is a plus
4. Exhibit strong abilities in scientific presentation, as well as excellent written and spoken English communication skills
5. Collaborate effectively within a team and demonstrate exceptional teamwork capabilities
