• A PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related Engineering discipline. Candidates with experience in medical imaging, pathologic imaging, or video/audio analysis are preferred.
• Demonstrable expertise and competencies for safely and effectively undertaking assigned projects in AI within the realm of medical imaging research and application, as evidenced by ongoing skills assessments and performance evaluations.
• Proficient command of the English language, encompassing reading, writing, and speaking abilities, crucial for fulfilling job responsibilities, particularly those impacting publications, scientific presentations, or aspects related to employee safety and security.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with scientists, physicians, co-workers, and collaborators.
• Proven knowledge in the field of biomedical research, alongside an understanding of various AI methodologies, including but not limited to machine learning, deep learning, large language models, natural language processing, and generative AI.
• An aptitude for thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, coupled with a demonstrated capacity for flexibility, adaptability, and superior interpersonal communication skills.
Funding and Application Process: This position is secured with funding for a tenure of three years. Interested applicants are invited to submit a letter of intent and a CV along with two references to Dr. Stephen Wong at stwong@houstonmethodist.org, cc Martha Silva at MESilva@houstonmethodist.org.
