Description Call for Applications: Cornell NYC AI for Medical Imaging (AIMI) Fellowship
The Department of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine is now accepting applications for the Cornell NYC AI for Medical Imaging (AIMI) Fellowship. Eligibility Criteria
Eligible candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field between September 1, 2023, and September 1, 2025. Applicants should have a demonstrated research record of excellence in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for medical imaging, including peer-reviewed publications in leading conferences (such as MICCAI and MIDL) and journals (such as MEDIA, MELBA, and IEEE TMI).
About the Fellowship
The Cornell AIMI Fellowship is a prestigious three-year independent research position based in the Department of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. Fellows will receive mentorship from Cornell faculty in areas such as research strategy, fundraising, student and trainee recruitment, and broader career development.
AIMI Fellows will have full independence in shaping their research agenda while being encouraged to leverage the resources and collaborative opportunities at Weill Cornell Medicine and Cornell Tech. The fellowship is designed to serve as a launching pad for the Fellow’s future research career, including potential tenure-track faculty positions.
Compensation and Research Support
- Salary: $75,000 - $103,000 per year, plus benefits. Fellows may supplement their salary with up to 2 additional months of external research funding.
- Benefits: AIMI Fellows will receive the same benefits package as Weill Cornell staff members, including health insurance.
- Research Support: $20,000 in annual discretionary research funds.
Weill Cornell Medicine provides the above salary range in compliance with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
The above salary range for New York City based roles represents WCM’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.
