Description We are offering several fully funded PhD studentships as part of the innovative CONGLIOMERATE research project, supervised by internationally renowned faculty from MedUni Vienna and the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to pioneering research that aims to drive forward the fields of AI, medical imaging, and life sciences.
Open PhD Projects:
• Pharmacokinetic modelling of [18F]FET PET in Gliomas and associations with tumor microenvironment
• Machine Learning for treatment response monitoring of glioma patients
• Best practices in ML-workflows for medical imaging in case of small training sample sizes
• Integrating PET/MR Imaging Parameters with Biological Insights in Preclinical Glioma Models
• Multi-modal machine learning for predicting Glioma progression
• HealthAEye: Deep Learning for Retinal Image Analysis and Disease Monitoring (independent project of MedUni Vienna)

Requirements:
• Applicants should hold a relevant Master’s degree to the projects and meet MedUni Vienna’s admission criteria.
• Experience with specific research methods may vary based on the project.
• Strong coding/programing skills
• Strong academic background and genuine interest in scientific research.
• Proficiency in English is required (both written and spoken).

Selection Process:
• Document Review: Shortlisted candidates will be selected based on qualifications.
• Online Interviews: May 14-16, 2025. Candidates will meet principal investigators (PIs) to discuss research interests.
• PhD Campus Visit: In-person interviews in Vienna from June 23-25, 2025.
