Description The Behavioral and Cognitive Neurology Division within the Department of Neurology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accepting applications for research engineers and postdoctoral research fellows in computational medical image processing.
Our division is an interdisciplinary, collaborative research group combining expertise in neuroimaging, neurology, radiology, psychiatry, and computer science. We are committed to advancing clinical care and scientific discovery by developing cutting-edge imaging methods and translating them into meaningful clinical applications.
Successful candidates will contribute to projects focused on the development of novel MRI analysis techniques to investigate structural, functional, and cerebrospinal fluid dynamics in the human brain. These efforts aim to uncover mechanisms of neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and frontotemporal dementia.

Suggested qualifications
• Master’s degree or PhD in computer science, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with machine learning, deep-learning, signal processing, and data analysis.
• Interpersonal skills and abilities to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Proficiency in Python and relevant machine learning frameworks.
• Experience with medical imaging data (sMRI, dMRI, fMRI, and PET) will be appreciated.
• Ability to work in-person at our Nashville campus.
