Description The Wu Laboratory at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in medical image analysis, machine learning, and AI for cancer research. Our research focuses on developing cutting-edge AI methods for precision oncology, with strong emphasis on medical imaging, multimodal learning, and translational cancer research. The lab has published original research in leading journals including The Lancet Digital Health, Nature Machine Intelligence, Nature Communications, Annals of Oncology, and Cancer Cell.
Research themes include:
- Developing advanced AI and deep learning models for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment selection from medical imaging
- Medical image analysis methods including segmentation, registration, and quantitative feature extraction
- Multimodal learning integrating imaging with molecular, genomic, and clinical data
- Computational approaches to uncover biological mechanisms and improve precision oncology
We seek highly motivated candidates who are enthusiastic about cancer research and passionate about using AI to make clinical impact.
Qualifications:
- Strong research training in machine learning / deep learning
- Experience in medical image analysis
- Proficiency in Python (MATLAB preferred)
- Background in data science, applied mathematics, computer vision, biomedical engineering, or related fields
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to present and publish high-quality research
