The Human-Centered Computing (HCC) research group at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), Switzerland, invites applications for a Lecturer / Senior Researcher in Digital Health & AI for Healthcare. We are looking for an ambitious researcher who is passionate about translating cutting-edge AI methods into clinical practice through close collaborations with hospitals, healthcare providers, industry, and international research partners.
Research Environment:
The successful candidate will join a rapidly growing research group working at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Medical Imaging, Clinical Decision Support, Digital Health, Human-Centered AI, and Foundation Models for Healthcare.
The group collaborates closely with leading Swiss hospitals, international universities, and industrial partners, and actively participates in competitive funding programmes including Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), Innosuisse, and EU collaborative projects.
Candidate Profile:
Applicants should have:
- PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Medical Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- Strong publication record in AI, Medical AI, NLP, Multimodal Data, Digital Health, or related areas
- Experience in applied AI research with demonstrated scientific excellence
- Interest in acquiring competitive research funding
Responsibilities:
- Develop an independent research programme in Digital Health and AI for Healthcare* Acquire and lead nationally and internationally funded research projects
- Publish in leading AI and medical imaging conferences and journals (e.g., MICCAI, CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, Nature journals)
- Supervise Bachelor, Master, and applied research projects
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in AI, Medical Informatics, and Digital Health
- Build collaborations with hospitals, healthcare organizations, and industrial partners
- Contribute to the strategic development of the Human-Centered Computing research group
