Accelerating AI healthcare development with Google Health AI Developer Foundations

Artificial intelligence holds immense potential to transform healthcare. Yet realizing this potential requires overcoming significant development and deployment hurdles.
This MICCAI Industrial Talk presents Google Health AI Developer Foundations (HAI-DEF), a collection of open-weight models and companion resources to help developers build AI models for healthcare. Andrew Sellergren will demonstrate how access to pre-trained models, like CXR Foundation, Path Foundation, and TxGemma, on multiple platforms (including Vertex AI and Huggingface) can help accelerate the development of AI applications with less data and compute resources.
Speaker's Biography:
Andrew Sellergren has been at Google for 15 years, the last six of which he has spent developing models and infrastructure for Health AI. He has helped lead both training and externalization of medical foundation model efforts like CXR Foundation, ELIXR, and Med-Gemini. He has co-authored numerous publications and patents in computer vision for medical imaging as well as large language models (LLMs) and large multimodal models (LMMs). He received his B.A. in Chemistry from Harvard University.
