The recent conflict in the Middle East region is a serious cause of concern for our upcoming MICCAI 2026 conference in Abu Dhabi this October and we understand that many of you have questions. The FAQs below address common questions we are receiving and will be updated as new information comes available.
Given the current situation in the Middle East, will MICCAI 2026 still be held in Abu Dhabi?
The MICCAI Society Board and MICCAI 2026 Organizing Committee are closely monitoring updates from international authorities and local partners. The safety and well-being of our attendees, presenters, exhibitors, and staff remain our highest priority. We will provide updates promptly.
Are the organizers considering alternative locations for the conference?
The Organizing Committee and DEKON Group (our PCO) are continuing preparations for MICCAI 2026 in Abu Dhabi while evaluating contingency options, including potential alternative locations.
Will it be possible to attend MICCAI 2026 virtually?
Currently, a virtual attendance option is not in our plan. However, a final decision will be made as circumstances evolve.
When will a decision about the conference location be made?
A decision regarding the conference location will be made before paper acceptances are communicated in early May.
