As the year comes to an end the MICCAI Student Board (MSB) is going through some changes. We bid farewell to some of our esteemed members and welcome fresh faces into key roles. This transition marks both an end and a beginning as we continue to drive forward our mission to enrich the MICCAI community.

Fond Farewells and New Horizons

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing members who have significantly contributed to the MSB’s success:

• Camila Gonzalez, our dedicated President, whose leadership will be missed.
• Paul Weiser and Angela Castillo, our Social Events Officers, whom we thank for the amazing tours and adventures they planned for us.
• S. Shailja, our Webinar coordinator, who kept us engaged in excellent webinars.
• Bo Zhou, our Professional Events Officer, who enhanced our A&I event & networking sessions.
• Emmanuelle Bourigault, our Educational Officer, who organized our beloved Medical Education Challenge.

Their dedication and hard work have left an indelible mark on the MSB, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors. In the same spirit of growth and continuity, some of our members are stepping into new roles:

• Benjamin Killeen transitions from Sports to Social Events Officer, joined by Paul Wilson.
• Weina Jin will take over the webinars, connecting and educating us during the year 2024!
• Naren Akash and Moritz Fuchs have been elected as the new President and Vice-President, respectively, poised to steer the MSB towards new heights.

Introducing Our New Team Members

We are thrilled to welcome aboard six talented individuals who have joined the MSB, filling key positions:

• Anna Zapaishchykova is the new Executive Officer, bringing a fresh perspective to our team.
• Harry Anthony takes on the role of PR Officer, ready to amplify our presence online.
• Amin Ranem is our new Professional Events Officer, supporting Adviath Veturi on our professional gatherings.
• Amar Kumar steps in as the Educational Officer, helping Amed Nebli with our educational initiatives.
• Constantin Ulrich brings his enthusiasm to the role of Sports Officer.
• Yanis Najy Miraoui, our Local Student Liaison, will play a crucial role in connecting us with the local community.

Each new member brings a unique set of skills and perspectives that will undoubtedly contribute to the MSB's continued success and growth.

Looking Ahead

As we look towards the future, we are filled with anticipation for what lies ahead. MICCAI 2024, set to be hosted in the enchanting city of Marrakesh, Morocco. This will be the first time MICCAI is held on the African continent, a step that reflects our dedication to embracing diversity and expanding our global reach.

As we prepare the MSB for MICCAI 2024, we remain committed to enriching the MICCAI community. With our new team members on board and the continued support of our community, we are confident that the next year will be filled with new adventures and amazing research. We look forward to embracing the challenges and opportunities that come with hosting MICCAI in such a vibrant location. Here's to a year of driving innovation, connecting students, and unforgettable experiences at MICCAI 2024 in Marrakesh, Morocco!
