The face behind CMT

If you’ve submitted or are reviewing a paper at MICCAI 2023, you will most likely be in contact with Kitty Wong. Kitty is the Abstract Database (known as CMT) Coordinator for the MICCAI Society and plays a key role in the success of MICCAI’s annual conferences. In collaboration with the Program Chairs and Area Chairs, she handles the paper submission and review processes for the main conference.

In past years, the Society has received close to 2,000 submissions that are reviewed by approximately 1,500 reviewers. This year, a record 2,300 submissions were received! As you can expect, she can sometimes receive hundreds of emails in a day (so please be patient). She also oversees the publication process of the accepted papers, assists with the presentation logistics and many of the MICCAI Society Awards.

Kitty started working with the Society in 2019 when the conference was held in Shenzhen, China. She was born in Hong Kong and came to Canada in 1991 where she earned a Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Queen’s University. She and her husband, Elvis, live in London, Ontario with their two young boys. When Kitty is not behind the computer or with her family, she’s busy renovating her home where she has installed a new kitchen and built a new outdoor deck!

Glad you’re on the team Kitty!
