New Horizons for MICCAI 2026

MICCAI 2026 is rapidly taking shape with an outstanding scientific program and important milestones on the horizon. With keynote speakers confirmed and critical deadlines approaching, the months ahead will define the structure and impact of this year’s conference.
Behind the scenes, the organizing and program committees are coordinating review processes, session planning, and conference logistics to ensure a rigorous and engaging experience for the global MICCAI community.
Keynote Speakers:
We are thrilled to announce that we have three distinguished keynote speakers who will be presenting at MICCAI 2026!

Eric Xing, President and Professor of MBZUAI
A leading scholar in machine learning and AI systems, Professor Xing’s work has shaped large-scale AI infrastructure and translational applications across healthcare and science.

Daniela Rus: Andrew (1956) and Erna Viterbi Professor of EECS, MIT; Director, CSAI
A global authority in robotics and AI, Professor Rus brings deep expertise in intelligent systems, autonomy, and the integration of machine learning with physical-world applications.

Effy Vayena: Professor of Bioethics, ETH Zurich; Principal Investigator, Health Data Governance and Value Creation
An internationally respected scholar in bioethics and digital health governance, Professor Vayena will provide critical insight into responsible AI, ethics, and policy in biomedical innovation.
These speakers represent the technological, translational, and ethical dimensions that define the future of medical image computing and computer-assisted intervention.
Main Conference: New Record and Important Deadlines
The MICCAI 2026 organizing committee is delighted to announce that, following the closure of the paper submission portal, we have received a record-breaking number of submissions. Surpassing last year’s total, we are thrilled to report that approximately 4,600 papers were submitted. We extend our sincere gratitude to every author who contributed. The outstanding quality and broad diversity of your work exemplify the dynamic and innovative spirit of our research community. With the submission phase complete, our expert reviewers have now commenced the critical task of diligently evaluating each paper and preparing constructive feedback.
The review process is now progressing toward its next major phase. Authors should carefully note the following upcoming dates:
7 May
- Early Acceptance Notification
- Reviews Released to Authors
8–14 May
- Rebuttal Period
25 May
- Camera-ready submission for early accepted papers
12 June
- Final Notification of Paper Decisions
26 June
- Camera-ready submission for all other accepted papers
- Author conference registration deadline
CLINICCAI Track: Important Dates
The CLINICCAI program continues to grow as a focused platform bridging clinical practice and AI innovation. Key dates include:
