What are the exact dates and venue for MICCAI 2025?

MICCAI 2025 will take place Tuesday, September 23 – Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) in Daejeon, South Korea.

When are the satellite events scheduled?

The main conference runs from September 24–26. Workshops, tutorials, and challenges will be held on September 23 & 27. See full program online.

Is it too late to register?

Not at all! Online registration is open until the conference begins, and on-site registration is available at the venue.

Where can I stay near the venue, and what price ranges can I expect?

Some conference hotels are already full, but plenty of nearby options remain. Hotels range from 3-star (~USD 90–180/night) to luxury 4–5 star properties within walking distance. You can also stay elsewhere in Daejeon and use public transport to reach the DCC.

Travel & Arrival
How do I travel to Daejeon from Seoul or Incheon?

There is an intercity bus from the Incheon Airport terminals to Daejeon. You may also travel to Seoul (by subway/train) or Gwangmyeong (by bus) station and board on KTX high-speed train to Daejeon which will get up to ~300km/h. How busy will travel be in late September?

September is a regular travel period in Korea, with no major holidays. Expect typical commuter traffic, especially around Seoul.

What’s the typical weather in Daejeon in late September?

Expect average daytime highs near 24–25 °C (~75–78°F) and nighttime lows around 14–15 °C (57–59°F). In 2024, it was hot (around 32~33 °C / ~90 °F) during the day in early September (with ~70% humidity), but it cooled down in late September. Occasional showers are possible.

Do I need to worry about typhoons or storms?

Typhoon season tapers off by late September. While storms are unlikely, check forecasts before traveling.

What should I pack for comfort and practicality?

Layered clothing (light sweater or long sleeves for evenings), an umbrella, and sunglasses/sunscreen (UV index ~5).

A slight bow is a common greeting. Share some small dishes (e.g., banchan) at meals, don’t stick chopsticks upright in rice, and avoid speaking loudly on public transport.

What is the local currency? Can I rely on credit cards or should I carry cash?

The currency is the Korean Won (KRW). Credit cards are widely accepted, but small eateries and markets on the street may prefer cash.

How common is English in Daejeon?

English is widely used in academia, but general public proficiency varies. Many people can read or understand basic English, though speaking may be limited—translation apps are handy.

What are some local eats and must-try foods?

Korean BBQ, bibimbap, bulgogi, red beanbingsu, and local street foods (tteokbokki, hotteok). Don’t miss Sungsimdang Bakery, Daejeon’s most famous culinary landmark.
