News from the MICCAI Society Board
Happy return to school!
It has been a productive and exciting summer for the MICCAI Society Board, our many volunteers and especially the MICCAI 2025 Organizing Committee! We are very excited about the upcoming conference in Daejeon, which has already set new records with more than 2,800 delegates planning to attend. Congratulations to everyone involved for your commitment and enthusiasm in shaping what promises to be a truly memorable event. Be sure to explore this issue of the MICCAI Quarterly for more details.
In July, we announced a significant new collaboration between the MICCAI Society and the European Society of Radiology (ESR). This partnership, formalized through a memorandum of understanding, reflects our shared commitment to advancing translation research, education and applications in the fields of medical imaging and radiology. We look forward to working together on various initiatives, including scientific challenges and educational programs. Stay tuned for updates on additional societal collaborations we are in the process of establishing.
This fall, we have an important election on the horizon. Three highly qualified candidates have been nominated to the member-elected position on the MICCAI Board of Directors. In this issue, Max Viergever, Honorary Elections Officer, shares an update on our new election process. We encourage you to attend the candidate presentations during the conference on Thursday, September 25 at 13:30 KST.
MICCAI 2025 is only a few short weeks away. Join me for more community news at the MICCAI Society Spotlight and General Assembly, which will take place during the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, September 24 at 8:00 KST.
See you in Daejeon!
