Women in MICCAI Luncheon Networking Event

The WiM luncheon networking event is scheduled for Monday, October 7, from 12:30 to 13:30 during MICCAI 2024. This gathering will feature seven esteemed panelists from both academia and industry who will share their invaluable career journeys. They will provide insights on how they navigated challenges and achieved success in their respective fields, with a focus on this year’s luncheon theme: health equity. This is a fantastic opportunity for attendees to gain knowledge, seek mentorship, and expand their networks. Lunch boxes and special gifts designed by the WiM Board committee will be provided.

Successful First Webinar in the “Health Equity in the AI Era” Series

Women in MICCAI successfully hosted the first webinar in the "Health Equity in the AI Era: A Humanistic Approach to Fair and Equitable Medical AI" series on June 20, 2024. Dr. Kerry McInerney from the University of Cambridge delivered an invited talk titled “The Good Robot: Why Technology Needs Feminism.” The webinar was well-attended and well-received, sparking many follow-up questions during the Q&A session on topics such as sources of bias, policy making, and underrepresented language in large language models (LLMs). We look forward to hosting more webinars featuring researchers in the health equity AI field and winners of the WiM Award for the Best Health Equity Paper.
