Networking Opportunities & Cultural Immersion at MICCAI 2025
This September, the MICCAI conference will be held in South Korea for the first time, in the dynamic city of Daejeon! Our Social Events Officers, Bishal Swain and Sue Min Cho, along with our Local Student Liaison, Chanyoung Kim, are actively organizing social events throughout the city, giving students the chance to immerse themselves in the local culture while networking with peers.
Additionally, our Sports Events Officer, Constantin Ulrich, is planning engaging sports activities to provide a fun and active way for attendees to connect beyond conference sessions. Meanwhile, our Professional Events Officer, Amin Ranem, is curating events designed to support students' professional growth, including discussions on career paths in both academia and industry.
Further enriching the program, our Doctoral Programs Officer, Nourhan Bayasi, is organizing the 2nd PhD Thesis Madness, offering doctoral students a platform to showcase their research, network, and gain mentorship. Our Scientific Programs Officer, Cosmin Bercea, is leading the coordination of the 2nd edition of the MSB EMERGE workshop, which focuses on fostering the educational and professional development of early-career researchers, helping them grow into independent investigators and mentors. The MICCAI Student Board remains dedicated to enhancing the student experience at the conference—stay tuned for more details on upcoming events!
