The MICCAI Society extends its sincere gratitude to Professor Emeritus Terry Peters for his exceptional leadership of the MICCAI Fellows Program over the past 12 years.

A pioneer in medical imaging and computer-assisted intervention, Terry has served as Chair of the Fellows Program since 2014, overseeing the nomination, review, and selection process with integrity, fairness, and professionalism.

“The MICCAI Board of Directors and the broader MICCAI community are indebted to Terry for his many years of service and the lasting impact he has made on the MICCAI Fellows Program and the Society as a whole”, said Marius George Linguraru, MICCAI Society President. “Terry has been a pillar of our society from its inception. Through his leadership, the MICCAI Fellowship has become one of the Society's most prestigious honors.”

Since the program's inception in 2009, the MICCAI Fellows designation has recognized 60 individuals who have made outstanding and sustained contributions to our field and community. Terry's dedication has been instrumental in ensuring that this recognition remains rigorous, respected, and meaningful.

As Terry steps down from this role, we are pleased to welcome James Gee, Professor of Radiologic Science and Director of the Penn Image Computing and Science Laboratory at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, who will carry forward this important work. We thank James for taking on this responsibility and look forward to his leadership of the program.
